I've been playing the CoH demo, and I'm mucho impressed. Personally I'm a bit tired of the whole WW2 theme but it is done so well.

How's the oW2 beta going?

DoW2 is awesome. At first, I thought it wasn't as deep as CoH's gameplay, but I've changed my mind--it's just different.

It's certainly a lot more CoH than it is DoW, which gets my vote of UberCool.

The beta will be available for all users from Steam in just 4 days time. It's a 2GB download, but I highly recommend it just the same.

In the Surprising category, Games For Windows Live turns out to be...COOL.

Groovy, in that case I'll do the download via steam and give it a go - does the demo have multiplayer?

It's not a demo at the moment--it's a multiplayer-only beta. So yes, it has full multiplayer support.

It's also very stable for a beta, which is a nice bonus.

If you own Soulstorm, you can access the beta now. If not, you'll need to wait a few days.

The beta is available right up until the game is released.

If you have Soulstorm, check out this link for how to access the beta today:

If not, most of those steps still apply, but you'll have to access the beta as you would normally through Steam.

Interesting article discussing what could have been with Dawn of War 2.

It is a pre-rendered conceptual visualisation, and aims pretty high.

Yeah, I saw that vid. Interesting.

I still think they should have aimed for more CoH-like than over the topness, but (largely because I'm biased toward strategy rather than pure action) I think what they _did_ do with DoW2 is better than the WAY over the topness shown in that pre-development POC video.

Just my 2 cents.

Is your game underwhelming?

Agree? Disagree?

Wouldn't pay for it though.....
